Cornelia Heim was born in Oberreute, Germany. After a career in the theatre as a stage manager and assistant director, she worked on the cruise ship 'MS Switzerland' for 13 months as a hostess and then cruise manager. In 1999 she joined the company KD Triton to work on the Rhine on the river-cruise ship 'Deutschland' as a Passenger Service Manager. During the season of 2000, while she worked in the same capacity aboard the 'Theodor Fontane' on the Danube, the company was taken over by Viking River Cruises. In 2001 she assumed the position of Corporate Passenger Service Manager for Viking River Cruises, responsible for France. She met Aidan while on a trip to London in 1980, and after twenty years together they finally married, aboard the 'Theodor Fontane', on Aug 21st 2000. After the (so far) unsuccessful attempt to settle with Aidan in New Zealand, she is now working in Basel, Switzerland for River Catering, a subsidiary of River Advice, as a Human Resources Officer. In her free time (which is rare) she is a Stage Manager for Semi Circle, an amateur English language theatre group.
